Pastoral loads in arid rangelands

The rangelands of Saudi Arabia have become degraded by overgrazing and inappropriate management of natural resources.

This project aims to:

• Estimate the carrying capacity in nature reserves in different rangelands habitats.

• Estimate the wildlife population size that reserves can support.

• Provide guidelines for domestic livestock grazing management.

• Recommend a plan to restore degraded habitats to support functional wildlife species.
